Not all resolutions are created equal. For some, you’re spending time at the gym or outside to get more active. For others, you’re hitting the books, learning a new skill to score that dream job, going back to school or picking up a new instrument. When you’re hitting the books, use Focus, one of our newest blends in the Ready, Set, Go Set, to stay on task, beat the slumps and slay those study sessions.
Focus
Created to stimulate that laser focus we could all use to power through those midday work slumps, late-night study sessions, and the dreaded Exhausted Mom Syndrome, the oils included in this blend are mentally stimulating and clarifying while supporting memory retention and concentration.

What’s In It?
Lemon Essence: Bright, refreshing, invigorating — we all know what makes Lemon Essence such a juicy, wonderful addition to this blend. It supports sharpened focus and helps rescue a mind weighed down from worries, confusion, and burdens. Aromatically, it helps to lighten the intensity of Rosemary and Basil to make a more rounded out aroma.
Rosemary: A known go-getter when it comes to mental focus, Rosemary is a key ingredient to this blend. It helps promote the arterial circulation of blood, which stimulates cerebral activity. Consequently, this supports both concentration and presence of mind. Using this herb for mental enhancement has been used traditionally since its first distillation, which is said to have occurred in the 13th century. Even Ophelia, Shakesphere’s tragic character in Hamlet, specifically referenced Rosemary for the mind: “There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance; pray you, love, remember” (Shakespear, IV.5.173)
Lavender Fine: This multifaceted essential oil supports focus by easing nervous tension and helping to calm strong emotions, like irritation, that threatens to overwhelm the mind. Including a type of Lavender in any blend for mental focus can help by adding a bit of stillness to a chaotic mind that is struggling to focus.
Fir Needle: The addition of fresh, crisp Fir Needle helps to renew stagnant energy, leaving you ready to charge forward through the day with a focused mind! Bonus: Its ability to support respiratory issues allows for deeper breathing, leading to a more rejuvenated mind and body.
Basil: When having focus is your objective, Basil sits right next to Rosemary in terms of value! Like Rosemary, Basil is a powerful cephalic essential oil (stimulates cerebral activity). It also supports physical and mental exhaustion, headaches and migraines, and other symptoms of stress that may be interfering with one’s ability to focus.
Coffee: Coffee and focus? Duh! Its invigorating, energizing qualities mimic that of a delicious, full-bodied brew. This mood booster helps prevent feelings of stress and depression, helping you to focus on the task at hand with an upbeat attitude.
How to Use It
If you’re diffusing while you study or work, use 2-3 drops per 100 mL of water. You can also use passive diffusion to keep the aroma nearby with a personal inhaler or aromatherapy necklace. You could even keep a cotton ball on your desk for subtle passive diffusion. If you want to apply Focus topically, dilute it to 2-3% in a carrier oil or lotion.
