Background of Fragonia

Fragonia is a shrub native to Western Australia which grows to a height of about 8 feet (2.5 meters). When in bloom, the branches are covered with clouds of snowy white petals surrounding a pink center ring. Also, Fragonia is often compared to its more famous Australian counterpart, Tea Tree essential oil, though its scent is often remarked on as “softer” and “sweeter” than Tea Tree.

Benefits and Uses

This powerhouse oil is unsurpassed when used for supporting respiratory health, whether due to seasonal pollen concerns or respiratory “yuckies” that get passed from person to person in wintertime. In addition, Fragonia helps in soothing chapped, red areas on the body and as a spot treatment for teenage or hormonal skin.

Furthermore, it’s a wonderful aid for the discomforts that accompany over-exertion at the gym or the normal wear and tear felt by those with aging joints. Dr. Daniel Penoel, a longtime aromatherapy expert, has praised Fragonia for its ability to help promote deep relaxation before sleep.

Also, an interesting fact about Fragonia is that it contains almost equal parts of three-component families: monoterpenes, oxides, and monoterpenols. This is rarely seen with any other essential oil and accounts for its wide-ranging applications for use.

DIY Blends

In an aromatherapy inhaler, here is a KidSafe® blend: combine 5 drops Fragonia, 4 drops Fir Needle, and 3 drops Sweet Orange to help promote clear breathing. Additionally, the same blend with 2 drops Fragonia, 2 drops Fir Needle, and 1 drop Sweet Orange can be used in the diffuser.

In addition, after a strenuous gym workout, combine 6 drops Fragonia, 5 drops Peppermint, 3 drops Juniper Berry, 3 drops Black Pepper, and 1 drop Ginger CO2 essential oils in one ounce of carrier oil for a soothing, relaxing rub.

Also, for a blend designed to promote relaxation before bedtime, place 3 drops Fragonia, 2 drops Roman Chamomile, and 1 drop Mandarin in the diffuser.
