No matter where we live, winter weather can wreak havoc on our carpets. We track in dirt, snow, slush, and everything else that gets stuck on our shoes and boots. If you’ve ever wondered if you can use essential oils to clean your carpets, the answer is yes!
It may not be the outdoors that is the problem. Pets, young children, or the occasional coffee spill can all leave stains that are difficult to clean up. Luckily, Lemon is a natural stain remover, making the essential oil a perfect addition to this natural carpet cleaner. Homemade Lemon Carpet Cleaner
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup hot water (tap water is fine)
- 2 Tbsp baking soda
- 20 drops Lemon Essential Oil
What you’ll do:
Mix all ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well. Make sure you shake enough so that the baking soda is fully dissolved. Spray directly on your carpet and work it in with a scrub brush or old towel. Soak up any excess moisture with a dry paper towel or dish towel. Be sure to test a small spot on your carpet for discoloration. Some stains may need to be treated more than once.
