4 Ways to Use Sparkling Laundry Essential Oil Blends

Essential oils and laundry just make sense. Instead of an overpowering detergent “aroma”, you can enjoy the fresh and natural scents of your favorite essential oils on your clothes and linens. If you’ve already got your hands on our expertly blended Sparkling Laundry Blends, chances are you’ve used them with wool dryer balls to give your clothes the fresh Lavender, Citrus or Minty aroma. But that’s not the only way to use these blends! Check out these four ways to use our Sparkling Laundry Blends with the world’s least favorite chore (aka, laundry).

In an Unscented Detergent

Thankfully over the years, laundry companies have started to realize not everyone wants a detergent that smells like “fresh rain” or “intense fresh.” Instead, you can easily find an unscented or free and clear detergent. When you add a sparkling laundry blend, do it on a load-by-load basis. Just add a few drops to your cap, mix it up a bit to make sure it’s thoroughly combined, and add it to your load. Luckily, this isn’t hard to mess up, so don’t overthink it and you’ll be golden.

DIY Dresser Drawer Sachets

Even after you wash your clothes, it might spend a while in a drawer or linen closet until it finally gets used. And by then, it may have lost any scent it had, or taken on the unexplainable “linen closet smell”. Keep all your clothes and linens smelling fresh with an easy scented sachet.

What you’ll need:

What you’ll do:

Mix the Epsom salt, white rice, and Sparkling Laundry Blend in a small bowl. Combine well and scoop the mixture into the small bags. Tie shut and place in drawers or closets for a fresh scent.

Make a DIY Linen Spray

Perfect for bedding, curtains, or upholstery, DIY linen sprays are the perfect way to refresh the scent or add a burst of fragrance to something that can’t fit in the washer. We like to use Everclear for our linen sprays because it emulsifies the essential oils and preserves the mixture. If you don’t have Everclear, you can also use witch hazel and Polysorbate 20 or the highest proof vodka you can find.

What you’ll need:

What you’ll do:

Combine your essential oils and Everclear in a 2-ounce bottle. Allow to meld. Fill the rest with water and spritz on linens for a fresh aroma.

And With Wool Dryer Balls

Lastly, we have our wool dryer balls. They are a simple and natural alternative to dryer sheets and an easy way to add a subtle scent to your clothes, fresh out of the dryer. After you’ve loaded your freshly washed laundry into the dryer, toss 3-4 wool dryer balls into the dryer for small loads. For larger loads, use 5-6 wool dryer balls. To help boost the scent, add 3-4 drops of one of our Sparkling Laundry Blends to a dryer ball and add with your laundry. For the strongest aroma, add the essential oils to the dryer balls during the last 15 minutes of the drying cycle when the dryer air is cool.
