Make Your Own Beeswax Wraps

If you’re looking for an easy way to cut out plastics, then this DIY is for you! By using natural ingredients, you can create a reusable, eco-friendly Beeswax Wraps. It’ll keep your food fresh, whether it’s covering leftovers in your fridge or wrapping your sandwiches for lunch. To start, you’ll just need to choose 100% cotton woven fabric. The best part is you can choose fun prints and colors to go with your decor.

DIY Beeswax Wraps

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of Beeswax
  • 2 Tbsp Pine resin
  • 2 Tbsp Jojoba oil
  • Large glass jar
  • Pot to boil water in
  • Baking Tray
  • Baking paper or aluminum foil
  • Soft bristle brush

What you’ll do:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Cut your fabric into desired sizes.
  3. Boil a pot of water on the stove, then reduce to a simmer to keep the water hot.
  4. Fill a glass jar with your Beeswax, Tree resin, and Jojoba oil. Set the jar into the pot of simmering water and stir until the mixture melts.
  5. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil or baking paper. Lay your pieces of fabric on top.
  6. Put 2-3 Tbsp of your wax mixture on your fabric.
  7. Put your tray in the oven for a couple of minutes to let the wax to melt completely.
  8. Take your tray out of the oven and use a brush to evenly spread your mixture over the fabric, making sure to soak all four corners and the edges.
  9. Hang your fabric to dry, about 5-10 minutes.
