Australia is a unique and amazing country that has so much to offer the world.
It is home to 24.6 million people, most of whom live in the coastal areas which have experienced the worst effects of the fire. The population includes the indigenous First Australians who have inhabited the land for 50,000 years.
Australia also boasts rich and diverse wildlife including dozens of species that are unique to that country: kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, dingos, and wombats, just to name a few. It has given us such landmarks as Uluru, the Sydney Opera House, the Outback and the Great Barrier Reef.
Australia has also given us the immense entertaining talents of Chris, Liam and Luke Hemsworth, Nicole Kidman, Baz Lurhman, Hugh Jackman, Cate Blanchett, and Kylie Minogue. And it also brought us the joy and charisma of Steve Irwin and his family. His wife and children continue to carry on his legacy of wildlife conservation and preservation.
