Periploca Natural Fragrance
A rare botanical treat, Periploca presents intriguing, complex aromatic qualities not easily found in the world of aromatherapy. Its sultry, gourmand scent opens with subtle cucumber-like top notes before unfolding into deeper nuances of creamy vanilla and almond. Cherished throughout the fragrance industry for the sophistication it brings to perfumes, now you can enjoy this treasured oil in your own collection. Periploca makes a delightful addition to your favorite DIY recipes, roll-ons, and essential oil blends. The warm, inviting scent helps to evoke a sense of relaxation and creates a cozy environment when diffused.
The essential oil is obtained from the roots of the Periploca sepium, also known as the Chinese Silk Vine. This climbing vine explodes with fragrant summer blooms of green and purple flowers against showy, dark green glossy leaves. However, it is the roots of this deciduous shrub that are most valuable, thanks to its unique and intoxicating aroma. At full strength, Periploca is thick and mostly solid, making it unusable in many applications. To make this into a workable product for diffusion, topical applications, and DIYs, the natural fragrance fixative ingredient triethyl citrate has been added. This gentle, biodegradable ingredient helps to thin out Periploca, making it mobile enough to use in a variety of ways.

Directions: Aromatic – Diffuse using 2-3 drops per 100 mL of water or use in a personal inhaler. Topical – Dilute to 1-2% in a carrier.

Sweet Musk Diffuser Blend
What you’ll need:
- 20 drops Periploca
- 10 drops Vetiver
- 20 drops Atlas Cedarwood
- 30 drops Sweet Orange
- 10 drops Patchouli
- 10 drops Allspice
What you’ll do:
Mix all oils together to create a stock formula (makes approximately 5 mL). Add 3-5 drops per 100 mL of water in your diffuser to enjoy this relaxing, sweet musk and woodsy scent.
