Essential Oils for Healthy Digestion

Alright folks, the big day is almost here. The day filled with delicious food and quality family time. Thanksgiving day is a time to reflect on what we’re thankful for, spend time with our loved ones and, of course, eat like there’s no tomorrow. There’s going to be turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and so many other delectables.

If there’s ever a day you indulge in things you don’t normally eat, this is it. Armed with stretchy pants and a few well-chosen essential oils, you can enjoy the Thanksgiving feast and be ready for any digestion issues that might come your way. Here are a few of the oils, blends, and DIYs to have ready to go on the big day!

PoopEase

Poopease plant therapy's new all-natural way to get going againIt’s all in the name! PoopEase helps keep things moving when you or your little ones are backed up. The blend of Chamomile, Orange, Copaiba, Caraway, and others can not only help relax muscles but also ease the anxiety your kiddos might be feeling from constipation. Dilute PoopEase to 2-4% in your favorite carrier oil and massage in a circular motion to the lower abdomen. Or go for the roll-on for easy, on-the-go usage.

DiGiZen

When it comes to Thanksgiving day, this unique blend is just what you’ll need! DiGiZen was formulated to help support upset stomach and digestion issues, whether it be from feeling too full or feeling a bit queasy. It has a minty-spice scent that you can add to a personal aromatherapy inhaler. You can also dilute to 5% in your favorite carrier oil and apply directly to your abdomen. If you were to use two teaspoons of carrier oil, that would be 15 drops of DiGiZen.

Cardamom

This sweet, green and spicy oil is exceptional for helping soothe the stomach and ease nausea. Adding 10-15 drops on a personal aromatherapy inhaler is another great way to support digestion, especially if you are out-and-about.

Tummy Aid & Tummy All Better

Blends are always a good way to go when you want something easy and ready to go. Both the Tummy Aid and the KidSafe Tummy All Better blends can be just what you need after you’ve demolished that turkey dinner. Tummy Aid includes a blend of essential oils that help assist the body’s natural digestion process. Tummy All Better has an aroma of the refreshing scent of Dill with subtle floral hints. It can help soothe occasional tummy trouble, whether it’s queasiness on a long car ride or a child struggling with regularity. Inhale to help calm an uncomfortable stomach or add six drops to two teaspoons of carrier oil and apply it to you or your child’s abdomen.

Peppermint & Spearmint

Sometimes our stomach just doesn’t agree with how much, or what, you ate. Both Peppermint and Spearmint are great options for helping soothe nausea and an upset stomach. Spearmint is also KidSafe. To relieve a queasy stomach or bloating, add two drops of Spearmint and one drop of Coriander Seed to one teaspoon of carrier oil and apply to the stomach. If the adults are feeling queasy, try three drops of Peppermint and three drops of Ginger Root CO2 with two teaspoons of your favorite carrier oil and massage in a clockwise motion on the abdomen.

Dill Weed

When stomach discomfort hits and is making you miserable, add six drops of Dill Weed to two teaspoons of carrier oil and rub on your stomach. It doesn’t get much easier than that. Plus it’s KidSafe!
