Benefits of Ginger

Benefits of Ginger

Ginger has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years to treat various ailments. In Ayurvedic medicine, ginger is considered the “universal medicine” because of its abundance of healing properties. The benefits of Ginger essential oils are similar to the benefits of the herb it originates from, although the essential oil is considered more potent due to its higher gingerol content. Ginger’s affinity for the digestive system allows it to naturally tackle stomach concerns, such as bloating, cramps, nausea, and gas. It can also settle an upset stomach due to traveling, motion sickness, and overeating. Ginger can also increase circulation, helping to warm cold, stiff joints and relax overworked or tired muscles.

Ginger essential oil is also known as the “Oil of Empowerment” due to its ability to bring on feelings of self-assurance and mindfulness. Emotionally, Ginger encourages a sense of confidence and motivation by helping to sharpen a foggy mind and lift feelings of lethargy.

What Ginger is Right for Me?

Plant Therapy currently offers three types of Ginger oils that share similar therapeutic benefits but have slightly different aromas and certifications. All three of the Ginger oils we offer are KidSafe, Pregnancy Safe, Nursing Safe, and Pup & Pony Safe.

Ginger Root CO2 Extract has been available for quite some time, and with over 600 5-star reviews, those who have had the chance to use this excellent oil can attest to its benefits. This particular Ginger has a fresh, warm, spicy aroma. Because of the CO2 extraction method, the scent of this oil is more complex and aromatic than steam-distilled ginger, has a different chemical profile, and must be diluted at a higher ratio than its steam-distilled counterpart.

Organic Ginger Root CO2 is a new addition to our site and is the organic version of the previously mentioned Ginger Root CO2. A USDA Certified Organic essential oil means that this oil is free from GMOs and the plants grow freely without the aid of synthetic fertilizers and in soil that is clean of prohibited substances, such as harmful pesticides. With the same benefits as Ginger Root CO2 Extract, purchasing either option would be more of a personal decision.

Ginger Essential Oil is made by steam distillation. This is the most common method of extraction for essential oils. This Ginger has a light, earthy & spicy aroma. An excellent multi-tasker when it comes to overall well-being, Ginger Essential Oil offers a wide variety of support.
