Essential Oil Daily Routines to Help Oily Skin

Using Essential Oils for Oily Skin

Our skin is unique and takes a lot of care to stay healthy and looking its best

If you have oily skin, chances are that you have tried at least a handful of products that promise to get rid of that glean and keep your face beautifully matte. But have you ever considered using essential oils to combat that greasy look and feeling? It may sounds pretty counterproductive to use oil to fix oil – but trust us! Certain essential oils work wonders for oily skin. They can help to balance the skin’s oil production, tone and soothe the skin, and stimulate circulation so that you can manage your excess oil naturally, effectively, and cost-efficiently! Let’s take a look at the carrier oils, hydrosols, and essential oils that are great to help manage oily skin.

Use essential oils to keep your face clean and healthy

Have a daily routine to care for your skin!

Always remember to wash your face every day to keep it clean and ensure it is getting the nutrients it needs.

  1. Cleanse with Oil Cleanser for Oily Skin. Rub four to six drops into dry hands and apply evenly over dry face. Wet the face and massage gently. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel.
  2. Tone using one of the hydrosols mentioned above.
  3. Apply Acne Treatment if needed – We will address acne prone skin in a future blog post; in the meantime, check this out: https://www.planttherapy.com/blog/2015/07/22/zap-the-zits/
  4. Moisturize with Clear Complex Carrier Oil or a carrier oil combination of your choice.

Give your skin a little more love throughout the week by regularly exfoliating in the morning after toning (2-3 times a week) and using a mask in the evening after toning (2-3 times a week).
